This is our most common Frequently Asked Questions.
When your "Check Engine Light" indicator lights upon your instrument panel, it's telling you that the vehicle has a potentially serious problem. If the vehicle seems to be running okay, it may be something as simple as the gas cap not being screwed on tightly enough, or an emissions sensor that has gone bad.
If tightening the gas cap doesn't correct the problem, the vehicle should be looked at to determine if there is something seriously wrong. Call and make an appointment.

All modern vehicles have a computer, or "ECM" (Electronic Control Module), that controls the operation of the vehicles powertrain. The "Check Engine" light indicator is on for a reason - but don't panic! Have Avant's Automotive check it out for you.
